Terms of use
The ground rules for using our website, videos and channels. Last updated 31 October 2026.
About these terms
These terms apply to localminute.news and to the videos, posts and channels published by Local Minute, a trading name of Kenzie George Pty Ltd, ABN 55 691 917 441 ("we", "us", "our"), including each town channel. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them.
When you watch us on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or YouTube, that platform's own terms also apply.
Our content
Local Minute publishes short videos summarising local news and events for general information. Our videos are free to watch. We may change, pause or stop any channel, edition or feature at any time.
AI and accuracy
Our videos are made with the help of artificial intelligence, which gathers and summarises publicly available sources, writes scripts and generates the voice-over. Every video is checked automatically and reviewed by a person before it's published, and its sources are listed in the caption.
Even so, summaries can contain mistakes, leave out detail or go out of date. Our videos are not professional, legal, financial, medical or safety advice. Please check the original source before relying on anything important, and tell us if you spot an error so we can fix it.
Weather, roads, surf and emergencies
Weather, UV, surf, road and event information in our videos is a summary at the time of production and may have changed. In an emergency call 000. For current warnings, rely on official sources such as the Bureau of Meteorology, Live Traffic NSW, the NSW Rural Fire Service, the NSW State Emergency Service and your local council.
Copyright and how you can use our content
Our videos, graphics, names, logos and this website are owned by or licensed to us. You're welcome to watch, share and link to our posts using the sharing features of each platform. Please don't download, re-upload, edit, sell or use our content or branding commercially (including to train AI models) without our written permission.
Third-party material
Our videos may include or refer to material from third parties, such as event posters, photos and information from councils, venues and news outlets. That material remains the property of its owners and we credit our sources. If you own material we've used and want it credited differently or removed, email hello@localminute.news and we'll act promptly.
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We aren't responsible for their content.
Story tips and comments
If you send us a story tip, event or other material, you confirm you're allowed to share it and you let us use it, free of charge, to make and publish our content. Whether and how we cover something is our editorial decision.
Please keep comments on our channels respectful and lawful. We may hide or remove comments, and block accounts, that are abusive, defamatory, misleading, spam, or that break the platform's rules.
Sponsors and advertising
Some videos and posts include a clearly marked sponsor message. A sponsorship is not an endorsement by us of the sponsor's products or services, and sponsors have no say over our news coverage. Sponsorships are covered by a separate agreement between us and the sponsor.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Subject to that, we provide our website and content "as is", and to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, our website or content.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. We may update these terms from time to time; the current version is always on this page.
